History and character

Since the 12th century, the Barony of Riudefoix has been a stately possession: a jurisdictional domain granted to the baron, with the right to appoint a permanent bailiff and with cultivated lands. The main nucleus —the basilical-style farmhouse— has its origin in a mill mentioned as early as July 2, 1086.

Featured architectural elements:

Robust walls with buttresses: testimony to its medieval fortified function.

The house preserves several original portals and arches: a large segmental arch on the ground floor with chamfered edges, a voussoir portal giving access to the cellar, a small semicircular portal on the staircase, a noble entrance with a ogee arch and floral stucco moldings in the hall, and a main semicircular portal crowned with a heraldic helmet.

Chapel of Sant Llorenç within the grounds, whose remains of the bell tower are still visible from the outside of the roof (still no photographs available).

Distribution and current use:

More than 20 spacious rooms spread between the three units, ideal for guests or tourist use.

High ceilings and open spaces that evoke Gothic charm.

A completely independent house of more than 300 m² (still no photographs available).
